In 1910 Tarantola family created a rice factory that is nowadays one of the most important factories in this area. The mill has always ground corn and used the so-called “pestoni” pushed by water to work the rice out.
The high quality of rice produced in the “Tarantola della Bruciata” rice factory is acknowledged at an international level; that is one among the first Italian rice factories which received the Demeter control and quality mark to sell that variety of rice which is produced in a biological and biodynamic way, without using any chemical substances.
